DAVIS celebrates as licence checks top 1.5M and drivers reach 1M
Licence checking and fleet risk market-leader, Licence Check, is celebrating reaching two major milestones after its award-winning DAVIS risk management platform carried out 1.5 million licence checks for the first time and the number of drivers on the system topped the 1 million mark.
The Derby-based business, part of the Fleet Solutions division of the Ebbon Group, reaffirmed its position as the UK’s number one provider of licence checking services, carrying out a total of 1.5 million licence checks between January and December 2025 via DAVIS (Driver And Vehicle Information Solution), according to figures from the DVLA.
Drivers numbers on the platform also grew to over 1 million for the first time in its history as the number of individual business customers reached more than 4,500.
However, 2026 looks set for further growth of the DAVIS platform as DriverCheck, Licence Check’s sister company, continues to migrate its customers, drivers and vehicles onto the platform.
Managing director, Keith Allen, said: “To have over 1 million drivers on DAVIS is fantastic news and to reach 1.5m licence checks – the third year in a row we’ve beaten the 1m mark – speaks volumes for the ease-of-use of the platform, its effectiveness and the sheer hard work of our highly talented team.
“We are forecasting around 5,500 business customers with more than 1.5 million drivers on the DAVIS platform within the next 18 months once DriverCheck has completed the migration of its customers onto the platform, and we’ll then be carrying out around 2.2 million licence checks annually – reaffirming our position as far and away the market leader.
“This will create a very powerful business with outstanding potential for further growth, and continued expansion,” he added.
Allen said that 2026 would see Licence Check continue to invest in further product development for both DAVIS and its award-winning analytical fleet management solution, DAVIS Fleet, with extra functionality planned for both throughout the coming months.
“We are seeing steady and increasing demand for our interactive coaching service, DAVIS Coaching, which is delivered by driver app, and provides bite-sized educational content for company drivers that is interactive and easily accessible.
“And DAVIS Fleet, which now has almost 10,000 vehicles on the platform in its own right, extends what was traditionally a licence checking service into an analytical fleet management and reporting solution for fleet operators.
“We continually developed DAVIS Fleet last year with a host of new features and there is a string of exciting new developments scheduled for this year, including further functionality for the driver app.
“We believe these factors, when taken together, will help further fuel the continuous growth of the business and keep us firmly in the number one spot in the licence checking and fleet risk management arena,” added Allen.
