Ebbon-Dacs sees record moDel growth despite pandemic
Despite the Coronavirus pandemic which has led to large parts of the UK being in varying periods of lockdown, Oxford-based technology solutions provider, Ebbon-Dacs, has seen a sharp increase in usage of its market-leading electronic vehicle delivery and collection solution, moDel.
In the eleven months from January to end of November, there has been a 65% rise in new vehicle deliveries through the model-VM stand-alone version which is intended for vehicle deliveries which are not integrated with Ebbon-Dacs’ e-procurement platform, Leaselink.
Now the most popular form of the moDel solution, moDel-VM accounted for more than 341,000 vehicle movements between logistics companies, dealers, leasing companies, brokers and end-users, both fleet and retail, in just eleven months – a new record.
This compares with 225,000 vehicle movements for the full 12 months of last year which itself was a new record and an increase of 26% on the previous year.
So far this year, model-VM and its Leaselink-integrated stablemate, which is used mainly by major leasing companies, have together seen a record 429,000 vehicle movements – a 35% year on year increase – despite the Coronavirus restrictions.
The latest businesses to join the model-VM community are two logistics companies: Leicester-based Ecomotive Logistics and We Deliver Cars, based in Walsall.
Thomas Mallett, managing director at Ecomotive Logistics, said: “We deliver 20,000 lease cars every year using the moDel system. It is without doubt the leading electronic delivery system for leased cars and we appreciate the opportunity to test and develop new products before launch as well.
“We are building the electronic future of our business around moDel and we anticipate that this will put us in the best position for lease vehicle delivery throughout the next decade and beyond. We feel that moDel is the right choice to offer the highest level of service to our customers,” he said.
Anna Denning, Head of Recruitment & HR, at We Deliver Cars said: “A seamless customer experience is at the heart of what We Deliver Cars offers and to ensure it remains that way we needed a partner to support this as we grow the business.
“Ebbon-Dacs’ moDel system has been this partner for us. It allows every member of the team involved in the delivery process to have full visibility of the vehicles’ journey, giving us much more control over the customer experience.
“We have been extremely pleased with the way Ebbon-Dacs has supported us through the implementation, ensuring all users are completely comfortable in all areas they need to be, as well as providing useful supporting documentation. We look forward to working alongside moDel for many years to come,” she said.
Michael Terry, Head of Commercial – moDel and Stockviewer, said: “We have been delighted with the performance of both the stand-alone and Leaselink-integrated versions of moDel so far this year in what has undoubtedly been a very tough period for everyone in the industry.
“Behind the scenes in lockdown, we have been continually enhancing the functionality of moDel with new features and benefits which have helped our customers to deliver and collect more vehicles more effectively and efficiently. We have also continued to attract new customers onto the platform and we are delighted to bring on board Ecomotive Logistics and We Deliver Cars.” he said.
Ebbon-Dacs is, with Derby-based risk management and licence checking specialist, Licence Check, part of the international Ebbon Group.
