Octopus Electric Vehicles selects Leaselink from Ebbon-Dacs to source all new EVs
EV leasing specialist, Octopus Electric Vehicles, has signed a deal with Ebbon-Dacs to employ its market-leading Leaselink e-procurement platform to source, order and track delivery of all new electric vehicles to its customers.
Octopus Electric Vehicles, part of the Octopus Energy Group, was launched in 2018 to offer a dedicated EV leasing service to grow the market share of electric vehicles and accelerate the UK’s transition to zero emission mobility.
As well as the latest electric models, it also offers charge point installations and specific electricity tariffs for EV owners.
Building on its position as a market-leader in electric vehicles (EVs), it recently launched Electric Dreams, a salary sacrifice scheme for electric cars which can save drivers 30-60% on monthly car costs, with Octopus’s first clients saving more than £10,000 over a three-year term, while also making them feel good about doing right by the planet.
The service includes insurance, accident management, SMR and roadside assistance, as well as risk mitigations for leavers and end of contract damage.
Gurjeet Grewal, Operations Director at Octopus Electric Vehicles, said that the decision to select Ebbon-Dacs and Leaselink was a very straightforward one.
“Ebbon-Dacs is the pre-eminent name in this space so the obvious partner to research. The client demonstrations were very good and gave us confidence that Ebbon-Dacs would be the ideal partner to help us achieve our goals,” he said.
Grewal explained that Leaselink, which went live in the business at the start of the year, was already delivering a series of benefits.
“Leaselink gives us a streamlined service and instant access to the information we need for our vehicle orders. It provides us with fast and accurate feedback to pass to our drivers and an easy ordering system. It empowers our team to be able to deliver great customer outcomes.
Grewal said that initial experience of the system had been outstanding.
“I don’t think we had anticipated how fast dealers act when using Leaselink. Our NPS (Net Promoter Score) and customer satisfaction has gone through the roof with orders placed in the Leaselink system. Even for manufacturers that don’t support Leaselink, it’s easy to track orders by processing them as manual t-cards in the system,” he said.
The Leaselink e-procurement solution is not only the most widely used platform by both dealer groups and the leasing and fleet management industry as a whole, but is the most transparent, easiest to use and most readily recognised.
Now Europe’s leading web-based e-procurement solution, it has supplied and tracked vehicles worth over £18bn in the last four years. It is used to electronically source more than 210,000 vehicles a year and electronically links around 2,000 franchised dealers and several vehicle manufacturers to a community of major leasing, rental and fleet management suppliers.
Claire Hughes, Ebbon-Dacs’ Head of Commercial – Leasing and OEMs, said: “We are delighted that Leaselink is delivering multiple benefits to Octopus Electric Vehicles, and helping it grow its position in the electric vehicle space.”
Along with Derby-based risk management and licence checking specialist, Licence Check, and the recently-formed Ebbon Intelligence business entity which specialises in automotive AI, Ebbon-Dacs is part of the international Ebbon Group.
